Interior detailing is most of what we do, and the reason most people call. A Northland car collects salt and grit all winter, sand and dog hair all summer, and whatever the kids dropped in between. A car wash does nothing about any of it. Our technicians come to your home or workplace with everything on the van, and two to four hours later the interior is the way it was the day you bought it.
What an interior detail includes
- Full vacuum: seats, floors, under the seats, the trunk or cargo area, the seams and the seat rails where the crumbs live.
- Carpets and floor mats shampooed and extracted, with the salt stains worked out of the carpet rather than covered.
- Seats shampooed (cloth) or cleaned and conditioned (leather), so leather stays supple instead of drying and cracking.
- Every hard surface cleaned: dash, console, door panels, cup holders, vents, pockets, the steering wheel and the gear selector.
- Interior glass, inside the windshield included, which is the one nobody can reach.
- Pet hair removal, which is its own job on some vehicles and priced that way. How we get dog hair out.
- Spill, stain and odor treatment, including smoke. A truck that came back with no smoke smell is one of our most-mentioned reviews.
Levels of cleanliness: how we price it
Interior detailing is priced by vehicle size and by how dirty the car is, because a lightly used sedan and a work truck that has not been vacuumed since 2023 are not the same afternoon. When you book, pick the level that sounds like your car. We would rather you pick honestly than be surprised; if the car is cleaner than you said, we will tell you.
| Level | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Mildly dirty | Some dust on the dash and seats, a few crumbs or minor stains. Used, not neglected. Little or no dog hair. |
| Moderately dirty | Visible stains on the upholstery, dust in the hard-to-reach spots, a moderate amount of dog hair. |
| Very dirty | Layers of dust and grime, prominent and widespread stains, dirt visible on seats and carpets, dog hair everywhere. |
| Extremely dirty | Neglected for a long time: thick dirt or mud, deeply set stains, heavily soiled seats and carpets, excessive dog hair. Often a work truck, a farm vehicle or a car that lived outside with the windows down. |

Mobile means mobile
We bring water, power, a hot-water extractor, the vacuums and the products on the van. All we need is the car and somewhere to park next to it: a driveway, an apartment lot, your office parking lot while you work. We detail year-round; in winter, interiors are done with the vehicle running for heat and our water carried warm. On the coldest days a pickup-and-return to our shop is available for a small charge.

Add-ons people pair with an interior
- Exterior detail on the same visit, which is how most people book it. Exterior detailing.
- Odor and smoke treatment for a used car that still smells like its last owner.
- Headlight restoration and engine bay cleaning, on request.
- A refresh card for a quick top-up clean between full details. Refresh cards.
How long does an interior detail take?
Two to three hours for a mildly or moderately dirty car, four or more for a very dirty truck or a van with pet hair. We will tell you when we arrive, and you do not need to be there while we work.
Can you get smoke smell out?
Usually, yes. Smoke is in the headliner, the vents and the fabric, so it takes a full shampoo, the vents cleaned and an odor treatment, not an air freshener. We will be honest if a car is beyond it.
Do I need to clear out the car first?
Take out anything you do not want cleaned around: car seats, the glovebox, the trunk. Car seats can be cleaned as an add-on. Loose change and receipts go in a bag on the seat.
Do you detail in the winter?
Yes, down to about 32°F outside. Below that, interiors can often still be done with the vehicle running, and we offer pickup and return to our shop for a small charge when the weather will not allow it.
