A boat in the Northland spends five months on the water taking sun and spray and seven months under a cover taking dust and mildew. Gel coat oxidises into a chalky haze, the vinyl goes grey, and the waterline turns brown. We detail boats where they are: on the lift, at the marina, in the storage lot or in your driveway on the trailer. If it floats, there is a good chance we can detail it.
What we do for boats
- Exterior wash and dry, hull, deck and topsides, with the waterline scum and the trailer dust removed.
- Oxidation removal: compounding the chalk off the gel coat to bring back the colour.
- Gel coat polishing and paint correction to a deep gloss.
- Wax or sealant for a season, or ceramic coating for years. Gel coat takes ceramic very well.
- Interior cleaning: vinyl seats cleaned and conditioned, carpet shampooed, compartments, mildew treated.
- Pontoon tubes cleaned and brightened.
When to book
Spring, before the first launch, is the big one: the winter cover comes off, the oxidation and the storage grime come off, and a sealant or coating goes on so the season's sun has something to hit other than gel coat. Fall, before storage, a wash and a wax keep the grime from setting over the winter. Mid-season, a maintenance wash and an interior keep it pleasant to be on. The spring and fall checklist.

Start with a free boat consultation
Thirty minutes on site. We inspect the whole exterior, mark up a diagram of oxidation, scratches and etching, score the gel coat, and recommend a plan. No obligation, and the recommendations are yours whether you use us or not. Schedule it.
What types of boats do you detail?
Most recreational boats: pontoons, fishing boats, wake and ski boats, bowriders, cruisers and personal watercraft. Request a quote to confirm yours.
Do you come to my marina?
Yes, where the marina permits it. We can also work at your home, a storage facility or a dock.
Can you fix heavy oxidation?
Usually, with compounding, and we will tell you at the consultation if the gel coat is too thin for it. Once it is corrected, a ceramic coating is the way to keep it from coming back.
